Josh + Kylie | Axton Events - Bellingham, WA

So many friends tell me they want me at their wedding, not working it. They want me to enjoy it, and to have fun, so they hire someone else. What they don't realize is that I love what I do, especially when I get to do it with the people I love.

I had the privilege of working with Kylie and Josh this year, and it was one of my favorite weddings of the summer. When I found out Josh was proposing, I secretly hoped Kylie would want me to do her wedding. She told me that she wouldn't trust anyone else to capture it, and those words will stick with me for as long as I do photography. I love that she felt so strongly that I was the one she wanted to capture her day.

I had a front row seat to the biggest day of both their lives so far. Axton Events was turned into Kylie's dream wedding pinterest board. Every detail was so perfect, with a touch of rustic and romantic. Their friends and family came together and worked so hard to pull this one off. Fun fact: my mom did the floral, decor, and cake! With the help of lots of family members and a few craft days Kylie's vision became reality.

I have photographed weddings in the PNW for over 4 years now, and this was the very first wedding I had that poured down rain. I was a little worried, but Kylie and Josh embraced it, and I think it made the day that much more magical. Their First Look was an intimate setting off site. It was raining so hard, but they took time to stop and soak in the importance of what they were about to do. They shared their vows, and we all cried. I am so glad that I was there for that moment. To see their love, and hear why they were choosing marriage, and vowing to fight for it every single day. Kylie and Josh, never stop valuing each other. Never stop taking time to share your love, even through the storms. I am so excited to watch your marriage strengthen, and to see where life takes you on this journey.
